Scalecoat Soldering Flux & Adhesives

Prepare metal model assemblies with Scalecoat ProFlux soldering flux. ProFlux is a liquid flux for brass, copper, nickel silver and mild steel model parts. It is suited to soldering work on brass locomotive kits, etched metal details and other assemblies using the listed metals.

Place flux at the joint you are building

The 2 oz brush-applicator bottle lets you apply flux at small joints and confined detail areas. Clean the metal surfaces before soldering and use the product as directed with suitable solder and equipment. Flux supports the soldering process; it is not solder and does not act as a stand-alone adhesive.

After assembly, remove soldering residue as directed before progressing to paint preparation. Check nearby materials and components before applying heat or flux to an assembled model.

From brass assembly to a finished model

Once the metal assembly is ready for finishing, inspect the joints and clean the model before choosing primer and Scalecoat I paint for brass and metal projects. Plan the lettering and final clear finish before painting.

Original ProBond plastic welder is discontinued. It should not be treated as a currently available adhesive or as a substitute for ProFlux. Soldering metal parts and joining plastic parts require different products and methods. Check each individual listing for its intended materials and current availability.
