Custom Printing & Artwork Setup
Use this guide to prepare files for custom decal printing. Files that do not match these requirements may print incorrectly.
We print files as submitted. We do not infer intent from preview colors or correct artwork automatically.
Artwork Requirements (Read Before Submitting)
Below are the requirements for artwork provided for printing.
- .AI (Adobe Illustrator)
- .PDF (vector PDF preferred)
- Transparent PNG (raster – limited use)
- .CDR (CorelDRAW native)
- .EPS
- .SVG
- Other formats not listed above
Page Sizes & Margins
We print three sheet sizes. All artwork must fit within the selected page size.
- A4 (Full Page): 210 × 297 mm / 8.3 × 11.7 in
- A5 (Half Page): 148 × 210 mm / 5.8 × 8.3 in
- A6 (Quarter Page): 105 × 148 mm / 4.1 × 5.8 in
Vector Artwork (Recommended)
Create artwork in Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or Inkscape — then export the final file as .AI or .PDF.
Vector files provide the most accurate lines, text, and white placement.
- Artwork may be created in Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or Inkscape — final file must be exported as .AI or .PDF.
- All text must be converted to outlines (Illustrator) or curves (CorelDRAW).
- All color graphics must be CMYK (not RGB).
- All white graphics must be CMYK 0C / 0M / 0Y / 0K.
- All graphics must be on a single layer.
Photoshop Artwork (PNG Option)
If your artwork is created in Photoshop, we can print a transparent PNG when prepared correctly as a full sheet at high resolution.
- Set the document/canvas to the exact sheet size ordered (A4/A5/A6).
- Set resolution to 1200 DPI.
- Ensure background is transparent.
- Export using Quick Export as PNG (transparent PNG).
White Ink & Preview Layers
All white graphics must be CMYK 0C / 0M / 0Y / 0K. We print a white underlay beneath all colors except 100K (pure black) for opacity on non-white surfaces.
Specialty Metallic & Neon Printing
We offer specialty metallic and neon printing options for projects that require extra impact.
Specialty metallic and neon prints are produced as A4 sheets only.
- Metallic Gold or Silver available as a specialty color
- Metallic cannot be combined with white in the same print run
- A4 sheets only for metallic prints
- Neon Pink or Neon Yellow available as a specialty color
- Neon can be used as a spot color or combined with CMYK to expand the color range into brighter, more vibrant hues (including vivid oranges and yellows)
- A4 sheets only for neon prints
Images, Mixed Artwork & Color Notes
If possible, avoid imitation gold colors. Gold will not print as metallic and may appear grainy, especially in small fonts.

Turnaround, Ownership & Legal
Turnaround time on supplied graphics is usually under 7 days.
Customer supplied graphics are proprietary to you, the designer. Fusion Scale Graphics will not print your artwork for anyone other than the designer without written permission. Custom prints with any Amtrak logos or trademarks will be removed and will not be printed.

FAQ
Can you match a specific paint brand or color chip?
No. We do not perform paint or color matching. All color decisions must be finalized in the artwork file.
Will colors look exactly the same as on my screen?
No. Screen colors vary by device and lighting. While we print accurately, on-screen previews are not a guarantee of final printed appearance.
Will white or colors look different on dark models?
Yes. Final appearance depends on the surface color and finish of the model. White underlays are used to improve opacity, but results may vary depending on application.
Can I submit artwork larger than the page size and have it scaled?
No. Artwork must be supplied at final size. Files are printed at 100% scale as submitted.
Can I submit multiple pages or multiple files for one order?
Yes. If your order includes multiple pages or files, upload all files together and clearly label them using your order number. Each file must meet the same setup requirements.
Do you review files before printing?
If requested, we can review files for overall layout and print margins only. Color setup, white placement, and content accuracy remain the customer’s responsibility.
Who owns the artwork I submit?
You retain full ownership of your artwork. Fusion Scale Graphics will not reproduce or reuse customer-supplied graphics without written permission from the original designer.
Why are raster (PNG/JPG) files not recommended for white artwork?
Raster artwork does not provide the same level of control as vector artwork. Very fine details may lose white coverage, especially when automated adjustments are required. Vector artwork is strongly recommended for accurate white placement.
Can neon colors be used as a spot color?
Yes. Neon colors may be used as a spot color or combined with CMYK to expand the color range into brighter, more vibrant hues such as vivid oranges and yellows.
Are metallic or neon options available on A5 or A6 sheets?
No. Specialty metallic and neon options are produced as A4 sheets only. Smaller sheet sizes are not available for these specialty finishes.
Can I combine metallic with white in the same print run?
No. Metallic finishes cannot be combined with white in the same print run. If your project requires both metallic and white, please contact us before ordering so we can discuss available options.
Can you fix or modify my artwork?
No. We print files exactly as submitted and do not make changes to customer artwork.
Can I upload SVG/EPS/CDR?
No. Please export your artwork to .AI or .PDF before submitting.
Can you fix or modify my artwork?
No. We print files exactly as submitted and do not make changes to customer artwork.
What happens if my raster artwork contains very thin lines?
Very thin raster details may lose white coverage or appear less opaque. This is expected behavior and not considered a defect.
Will I receive a proof before printing?
No. Files are printed as submitted. We do not provide proofs unless explicitly arranged in advance.
Are custom printing orders refundable or cancelable?
No. All custom printing orders are printed as submitted and are final, non-refundable, and non-cancelable.
What happens if my file does not meet the requirements?
Files that do not meet the setup requirements may print incorrectly. This is not considered a production error.
If my artwork prints incorrectly, will it be reprinted for free?
No. Custom print orders are printed as submitted and are final.
